A fairer, greener future for East Cliff and Springbourne

/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/IMG-20230108-WA0019-2.jpg

On Thursday 4th May 2023, the residents of East Cliff and Springbourne will have the opportunity to change the direction of the council and the local area by electing three Labour councillors to stand up for local people.

Martin, Annemarie, and Declan will be the voice for our area in the townhall, and work hard to get our area the investment it needs.

Labour was just 146 votes behind the Conservatives at the last local election. Your vote can make all the difference to elect Labour councillors in the ward who will stand up for our local community, rather than continuing Conservative failures and neglect.

Remember to use your vote three times for Labour on Thursday 4th May 2023.

Problem parking

We’ll work with the police to protect residents’ and disabled parking and tackle problem parking hotspots.

Greening our area

We’re pushing for bold action to cut local carbon emissions, improve local biodiversity, and protect and expand local green spaces.

Protecting our beaches

Our beaches and waterways are polluted by water companies, but the Conservatives voted against a Labour motion in Parliament to hold water companies to account over their pollution of our fantastic natural environment.

We oppose sewage being pumped into our seas, and will seek to protect our beaches from environmental degradation.

Strong action on fly-tipping

We want to see an end to fly-tipping in the local area, and support making our local area cleaner and greener for local people.

Combatting antisocial behaviour

We’ll work with the police to tackle drug dealing, antisocial behaviour, and local crime, all backed by Labour’s national commitment to putting a further 13,000 police officers on the streets.

A better deal for renters

We know how stressful it can be to afford decent and secure accommodation, and we’ll push for improved standards for rental properties, including combatting rogue landlords.

Putting local people first

We’ll ensure that local people are heard in the planning decisions which impact them and their local communities. Too often, new developments materialise without a credible plan for their impact on parking and the local infrastructure. We’ll champion a joined-up approach that seriously engages with these issues.
